# All install options

> Install the Heliyos MCP server in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Desktop, Antigravity or any MCP client.

Every client runs the same command, `npx -y @heliyos/mcp`, with your API key in the `HELIYOS_API_KEY` environment variable. Replace `YOUR_HELIYOS_API_KEY` in the snippets with your key. You need Node.js 20 or later and a key from **Settings → API keys** (see [Authentication](https://docs.heliyos.ai/authentication.md)).

> [!WARNING]
>
> Config files that hold the key in plain text are as sensitive as the key. Keep them out of shared folders and repositories. Where a client can read the key from your environment or a secret store, prefer that.

## Claude Code

## Codex

> [!TIP]
>
> Give Codex a 120 second tool timeout so `heliyos_ask` can finish. See [Tool timeout](https://docs.heliyos.ai/mcp/configuration.md#tool-timeout).

## Cursor

## VS Code

## Claude Desktop

> [!NOTE]
>
> Custom connectors on claude.ai and in the Claude connector directory need a hosted MCP server with OAuth. Heliyos does not offer one yet, so use a local client for now.

## Antigravity

## Other clients

## Check it works

Ask your agent: *"Which Heliyos workspace am I connected to?"* It should call `heliyos_organization_get` and answer with your workspace's name. If it does not, see [Troubleshooting](https://docs.heliyos.ai/mcp/troubleshooting.md).
